John Shotwell joined the Marines in 1968 and was trained as a Naval Flight/Radar Intercept Officer, serving 125 combat missions in Vietnam. He directed the Marine Corps Public Affairs Office in New York and coordinated air shows featuring the Navy’s Blue Angels.
After retiring from the Marines in 1994, John was recruited by the Department of Defense to help develop training seminars for officers from all branches of the armed services, helping prepare young officers who would soon serve in Iraq and Afghanistan.
