Chief Warrant Officer (W-4) (Ret.) Donald G. Dixon excelled as an enlisted Marine, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6) and accepted a direct commission as a Warrant Officer. He is a decorated veteran with seven years active service in the U.S. Marine Corps and twenty-three years of service as a citizen-soldier in the Marine Corps Reserve. Upon retirement with an Honorable Discharge, he transferred to the Retired Reserve.
Concurrent with his service in the Marine Corp Reserves, he was employed with Kentucky State Government for 35 years. During his tenure in state government, he served in key positions during the administrations of nine (9) governors, including as director of Veterans Division, Department of Military Affairs and deputy secretary of the Cabinet for Human Resources.
