Brig. General Adams spent 15 years active duty in the Army, and after a brief stint away from service, transitioned to the Kentucky National Guard as an Army aviator. He served as the 5th Commissioner of Kentucky’s Department of Veterans Affairs, overseeing day-to-day operational management of the state’s veteran nursing homes, cemeteries, and women’s and homeless programs. He was later appointed as Executive Director of the Department of Military Affairs to supervise disaster planning, Kentucky National Guard state missions, and state and federal management and accountability. General Adam’s service continues to encompass “all things veterans and their families.”
