You Make It Possible: 2024 Impact Report

Dear Friend of LexHistory,

I am pleased to share with you our 2024 Impact Report, showcasing the remarkable growth and development of the Lexington History Museum since our reopening in the fall of 2023. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mayor Linda Gorton and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council for their enthusiasm and support in revitalizing the Museum and partnering with us on numerous projects over the past year.

Our achievements in 2024 underscore the Lexington History Museum’s role as a vital community asset that preserves our cultural heritage and tells the stories of our past, ensuring they are not lost or forgotten. We attract visitors from around the world and right here in Lexington. Through special exhibits such as Among Women: 130 Years of the Woman’s Club of Central Kentucky, we share otherwise inaccessible stories of Lexington’s past. We engage with diverse groups and seek varied funding sources to support our mission.

As we celebrate the city’s 250th anniversary in 2025, the Lexington History Museum will continue to deliver high-quality, engaging historical content through on-site exhibits, outreach programs, school visits, and consultations. By providing expanded opportunities to learn and engage with history, we play a valuable role in educating tourists and residents alike, helping them understand the past to better navigate the future.

You can help us make an even greater impact in 2025. Donate today and consider making your donation a regularly recurring one to consistently support our mission. Please reach out to me to discuss endowment, planned giving, and other potential support via phone at (859-440-1582) or email at mandy.higgins@lexhistory.org.

Lexington’s history belongs to us all, and I am incredibly honored to help share it with the world. We are grateful for your support and look forward to talking with you soon about our work and successes during 2025!

Wishing you the very best,
Amanda Higgins, Ph.D.
