LeRoy M. Miles was born on November 12, 1907 in Maysville, Kentucky. After graduating from the University of Kentucky in 1928 and the Harvard Business School in 1930, he began his banking career with the First National Bank and Trust Company in July 1930. Mr. Miles was promoted to Assistant Cashier in 1936, Vice President in 1946, Executive Vice President in 1954 and President in 1958.
Due in a large part to his efforts the First National Bank consolidated in 1961 with the Security Trust Company. He became the President of the consolidated bank, serving in that capacity until 1973 when he became the Chairman. He retired from active management in 1974 and continued to serve on the Board of Directors.
He served in the U. S. Army Reserves, from 1928 to 1967, and on active duty during the Second World War. In addition, he served on the Board of the Cleveland Federal Reserve - Cincinnati Branch for a number of years.
