Dunbar (Paul Laurence) High School

Dunbar (Paul Laurence) High School - a high school located on Man-O-War Boulevard in southwestern Fayette County.  Opened in 1990, with an enrollment of 2,200.  The school was named after the famous black poet, Paul Laurence Dunbar.[1]

[1] When the segregated Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School closed in 1965, the school board agreed to name the next new high school after Dunbar.  The name was changed slightly to Paul Laurence Dunbar, instead of Lawrence.
